Extension Reforms Programme
The scheme “Support to State Extension Programme for Extension Reforms” is the main
scheme to operationalize agricultural extension reforms across the country. The
programme under this scheme has been catagorised in two level i.e State & District.
The programme under state level is being implemented by State Agriculture Management
& Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) & Distrcit level by Agriculture
Technology Management Agency(ATMA).

ACTIVITIES OF EXTENSION REFORMS PROGRAMME
STATE LEVEL
Training courses-National/ Inter State/within the state (SAMETI) level – fee for
IGNOU courses both Govt. & Non- Govt. extension functionaries (including NGOs,
Para extension workers, Entrepreneurs, Agri-clinics, Agri-business centers, Input
suppliers, Corporates etc.
Exposure visit of extension functionaries to progressives states (A group of 10
participants)
Organization of state level exhibitions/ kisan meals/fruit/vegetable shows etc.
Krisi Expo and Regional Fairs
- Participation in Krishi Expo organized by DAC.
- Participation in Regional Fair supported by DAC.
Adjudging the Rewards & incentives for best performing ATMA dist.
Selection of Best farmers representing different enterprise of ATMA blocks.
DISTRICT LEVEL
Conduction of Training on different topics of Agriculture & allied
line department to the farmers.

Facilitate Rewards and incentives to - Best organized group representing different
enterprises (5 groups)
Facilitate Farmer Awards to Best farmer representing different enterprises- block
level.
Organization of District level exhibitions, kisan meals, fruits/ vegetable shows.
Creating ,printing and distribution of leaflets etc.
Development of technology packages on electronic form to be shared thought IT network.
Organisation of Farmer Scientist Interactions at district level
Organization of field days and kisan gosthis to strengthen research- extensioin-
farmer linkages
Establishment of block level Farm Information and Advisory Centres (FIACs)- providing
IT applications for effective connectivity.
